101 SEO Tips and Techniques to Help with Your Adsense Income

1. Use this link to find the top 100 current top keywords: http://www.google.co.uk/trends/hottrends

2. Don't be eager to optimise your main keywords first. Concentrate on 'long tail' keywords and see quick results and in doing this you'll understand the procedure better for when you're ready to tackle your main keywords.

3. A long tail keyword sample... First the main keyword - the atkins diet; and now the long tail keyword - the atkins diet 7 day plan.

3A. If and when you create a new web page, consider this... How many times do Google say that the key term is used. Do you want a very specific long tail keyword or phrase, such as, 'car hire in benidorm' with 250 searches a month; or do you want a long tail keyword phrase such as 'car hire alicante airport' with 3,700 searches per month. Generally to get to a holiday destination, they need to land at an airport first. Choosing the greater search potential, will long term increase your traffic.

4. INTERNAL LINKING STRATEGIES - Make sure that your most important pages are always linked from all of your other pages.

5. Search engines cannot read 'flash graphics' (or claim they can't). As a consequence if you have a lot of flash graphics or as many call them ‘singing and dancing sites' you'll not get a good ranking unless it is equally supported with text.

6. Try and have at least 10 html pages amongst all the other permutations. Sites that solely depend on .php or .asp need to be extra vigilant with their seo optimization

7. There are two types of website optimisation types. Firstly there is ‘on-page'. This is everything you can do to tweak your website and webpages.

8. Secondly... there is ‘off-page' - this is basically practical work you can do to create links coming back to your webpage or website.

9. These two obviously work alongside each other. They work 20% on page and 80% off page; although off page will bolster your search engine rankings the most.

10. Off page... may bolster your rankings more, but if you haven't got the basic structure of your website right, the improvements in your website rankings will falter and fall back down the rankings. Type... link:www.yourchosenwebsite.com into the Google search and see how many backlinks any website has.

11. You can have a 1,000 web pages made up from a php script, but if you don't have a basic 10 pages made up from html your website won't get crawled very often by search engines.

12. The only web page that you don't have a choice of name is the home page ‘index'.

13. Too much flash script on your website deters search engines from crawling your website.

14. How many websites have their entrance web page display like an endurance test? Web browser looking for information have little tolerance and will assume the rest of the site is the same and click away.

15. Try and make your entrance webpage open very fast. Not too many graphics and avoid flashing images.

16. Search Engines including Google can determine how long someone stays on your web pages. The longer they stay the better search engines choose to rank that page. 30 seconds is the first objective, anything beyond that and you're likely to get ranked better.

17. When using internal linking to your website, most use /property.html styled links. It is preferable to use the full web address as <a href="http://www.adwords-and-adsense.com/101-seo-tips-for-adsense.html">. This helps in various search engines as they consider such links as a 'valued link' and add it their list on inbound links to your site.

18. How do you get your web form to send both an email to you as the ‘form owner' on completion and an email to the customer who fills it in as well? See this free web form compiler: http://www.tectite.com/formmailpage.php

19. It is important to have a fast loading website... Try an avoid lots of images. The images you must have make sure they have been reduced in size. Try visiting http://www.gifwizard.com for more advice on adjusting images.

20. Anything on your webpage that is either bold, italic or underlined are seen as more significant than any other text. So if you use such techniques on text that doesn't have importance then you'll be sending out the wrong signals.

26. Create an XML sitemap of your site and submit it to Google Webmaster.

27. Find quality and relevant blogs and leave a comment (with a link back to your site of course). Understand the difference between a 'no follow' link and a 'do follow' link. If the blog has 'no follow' links, the comment will not link back to your site. A 'do follow' link will.

28. Consider looking to leave comments on foreign blogs! They haven't got around to realising the importance of leaking page rank.

29. Leaking page rank - this is where you have more links off your site than coming in. If you have links off your site make them "rel=external nofollow" in the html. This stops leaking page rank.

30. The BIG quick back link tactic at the moment is video blogs. You could get your site listed at the top of Google in 10 minutes.

31. Search engines don't read javascript. So be careful how you use it. If you want your RSS Feeds to be read by the search engines avoid javascript feeds. Some of the very best feeds available are javascript; but if you use these the changeable content facility will not be utilised fully.

34. Make sure it's easy for your users to subscribe to your RSS feed.

37. Google has about 60% of the search engine market, Yahoo 20% and MSN 10%. Use those percentages to determine the amount of time you spend optimising for each big search engine.

40. Google Page Rank acknowledges the quality of your site; but doesn't base your eventual Google position upon it.

41. A Google Page Rank is a ‘core value'; and will aid your eventual position... But should you not optimise your page properly or have fewer inbound links than a site with a lower page rank you'll rank lower than them.

42. Page Rank is credibility personified, but no guarantees of ranking in the top 10.

43. The age of your site alone will give you a page rank; as this age implies longevity.

44. Write articles that pertain to your product or service. Allow people to reprint your articles on their website, in their e-zine, newsletter, magazine or ebooks. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.

45. Do you have a knack for web design? Create some templates, graphics, etc. and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site.
